YachtXP will be spending the summer of 2025 sailing the canals of Norway!  Two differences from our normal trips - all bookings are by boat and we will be using riverboats to navigate the canals!  No sailing making for a kid friendly trip!

With one of the eco-friendly boats, you can cruise through the picturesque Telemark Canal at your own pace, stopping to explore quaint villages and hidden coves along the way. Or you can travel to the sea and explore the beautiful Norwegian fjords.

If you are born after 1980, the tenant and any other drivers of the boat must have a boating license. Canal Boats Telemark, on the other hand, requires all riders of the boat to have at least 2 seasons of experience with boats. Read more under terms and conditions here. In addition to the Norwegian boating license, the International Certificates for Operator of Pleasure Craft (ICC) is also approved as a valid boating license. click Here to see which countries are members of ICC Resolution No.40.

As you meander through the peaceful waters, you’ll be surrounded by lush forests, soaring mountains, and crystal-clear lakes. You might even spot some of the local wildlife, such as moose, beavers, and eagles. Take in the stunning views and let the tranquility wash over you as you disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At the end of the Telemark canal lies Dalen, a small town surrounded by high mountains. Here you can visit Dalen Hotel, an old wooden fairytale hotel where you can enjoy a lunch in their stunning back garden or eat a delicious dinner.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Telemark offers a wealth of activities to keep you entertained, from hiking and biking to visiting local cider and winery.
